I’ve only really known about pine pollen and all its glory for a couple of years. I accidentally came across this super food & herbal medicine while researching something completely different. But I’m sure thankful I found this sweet resource!!

Today I am sifting all the pine pollen into a mason jar, from all the catkins I harvested last spring. Usually I do this in summer, but with moving, I had no time, so I just left my dried plant material a few extra months.

This yellow pollen that dusts everything in that few weeks of spring is an vitality provider! For the forest, this layer of pollen aids in regeneration of the forest floor by providing nutrients and minerals. For info see importance of pollen for forests.

What does this mean for us?

It provides us with the same effects as a food source!

Pine pollen is an adaptogen (this helps your body deal with stress), it’s a phyto-androgen (plant based form of bioavailable hormones), it’s a complete protein with 18 essential amino acids. This amazing gift from the forest also has 200 different micronutrients!! What a powerful pollen!

Revitalization! Regeneration! Reststoration!

What am I using it for?

Firstly, I am using it as a food source by adding it to other food, adding it to my baking and sprinkling it over food like you would nutritional yeast, to make use of all the amazing vitamins and minerals! 💥

This powerful medicine has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine. Used frequently for helping men to restore their testosterone levels, help with sleeplessness and reinstate sexual vitality.

However my research finds that it may in fact be good for vitality for women also! In the case of hormonal fluctuations of menopause. pine pollen benefits both men and women

I’m making some of it into a tincture. A tincture is where you draw out the medicinal components of a plant material by using a alcohol solvent. This is the most effective way to use pine pollens androgen qualities.

What do I get out of taking the tincture?

Taking the tincture (a few drops under the tongue) is like a direct way for your body to absorb the benefits by bypassing the stomach and filtering directly into the blood stream.

So I am using this method to take advantage of the hormone balancing, anti-inflammation, free radicals action of the pollen.

With pollution and so many xenoestrogens, I think it’s important for me to try an renew my body with mineral & vitamin dense organics.

I take a few drops morning, noon and night.

I also take it before workouts to give me a immediate boost of energy and strength, just as I would take e+ energy shot.

Hope u enjoyed learning about one of my favorite things to forrage!! Have a fantastic week!!!

That’s so awesome!! Is it any particular kind of dessert? I’d be interested in trying this! So far I just add it to my bread dough.
